After coming to the USA from Europe in the Spring of 2000, I had wonderful teachings and memories from living on the farm, where my grandmother taught me fantastic food preparation secrets. You see, back in my original country, there was no such thing has GMO's, non-organic, high fructose corn syrup, or other chemically prepared foods, as everything was as natural and organic as the day was long! My food was made from scratch directly from our farm! My grandmother, from my very young childhood, taught me all kinds of food preparation skills as well as cooking, and now I have decided to share some of these family secrets with you. After opening my bed and breakfast business, going on 10 years now, I had decided to transform my cooking passions into a successful fun business, where I serve people gourmet European style breakfasts year around. I was nominated as a Best Bed & Breakfast of the Year for 17 times! As thousands of folks from the U.S. have joined us in my dining adventure, nationals from over 50 countries worldwide have stayed and dined with us throughout the years. I am a state certified food handling manager. Now, for the first time in over 15 years, I am willing to share some of my food preparation abilities with all who wish to sign up to my food preparation class starting this month. I will teach how to prepare delicious French Crapes from scratch with different fillings and toppings, home made fresh jams (which you would LOVE from the first taste, and after you will NEVER buy jams from the store!). After teaching you all those skills, you will taste your own cooking in our beautiful Sun Room at the Bed & Breakfast! . Other benefits of tucking into a good breakfast in the morning include improved mental performance and concentration and better mood – something we could all do with in the morning. Ironically, many people think that skipping breakfast will help them lose weight but studies consistently show that those who eat breakfast are less likely to be overweight or obese whereas those who eat breakfast tend to be leaner and more likely to maintain weight over time. Data from America show that children and adults who eat breakfast have healthier weights than those skip breakfast. Those who skip breakfast on a regular basis are nearly five times more likely to be obese. Having breakfast helps to stabilise blood sugar levels and this regulates appetite and energy. People who eat breakfast are less likely to be hungry and overeat during the rest of the day. What we choose to eat for breakfast is important, potentially affecting our mental and physical performance throughout the day, as well as our mood, weight and long-term health. A good breakfast gives us the energy we need to face the day, as well as some of the vitamins and minerals we need for good health.
